Fun in the sun!!

Our U8s squad enjoyed Epping Upper Clapton’s wonderful hospitality and the novelty, certainly in recent weeks, of feeling the sun on their faces and firm ground underfoot - courtesy of Epping’s excellent all-weather pitch.

OBs two U8s teams acquitted themselves admirably demonstrating improving individual skills and great teamwork in attack.

Henry and Wilf showed incredible speed and tenacity in defence with their insatiable appetite for gathering their opponents tags. Edmund’s passing and catching skills linked the play well and provided multiple opportunities for others to score as did Verity’s intelligent support play. Joseff’s “snake hips” were much to the fore as he slalomed through Epping’s defences on the way to scoring a number of tries. Thomas’ fancy footwork and determined running were also rewarded with a good haul of tries.

Toby enjoyed a try scoring field day and combined well with Austin, their teamwork together bringing the best out of each other. Teddy and Charlie formed a similarly dynamic partnership both showing great speed and enthusiasm. Harrison, as well putting in a tremendous defensive shift, grabbing tags hither and thither, scored one of the tries of the day, weaving his way through the whole Epping team at least once and maybe twice before dotting the ball down.
