OB U10 vs Old Coops 19.3.23

Where to start!?! After a bruising encounter the week before it was touch and go as to how the U10’s were going to react this week! Their reaction came in the form of a fantastic game of rugby. The team fired out the blocks and were creating chances and attacking with gusto. Scores quickly started pouring in with Tommy, Marcus, Jake and Henry carving up the defence and scoring. This game had a bit of everything, powerfully ran straight lines, rucking and counter rucking, turning the ball over and, even more importantly, keeping the ball in hand throughout contact!! Oliver had an outstanding game, showing his strength and determination to break the defensive line and move his team forward.

After a breathless first half, the acorns came to the touchline in high spirits. They had had an enthralling and exciting half of rugby and were thirsty for more. The second half was soon underway, old coops came out firing and quickly scored. This engaged the woodies and they immediately responded, with Charlie bursting through tackles and finding the try line for a brilliant solo try. In defence William had an outstanding game. Making tackles all over the park, he has found his confidence and it is great to see. Every player put in 110% effort, what more can a coach ask for!?! (115% I guess!!).

With scores coming in from the majority of the Acorns, they all came off the pitch at the end of the match absolutely buzzing. It was a pleasure a watch and be a part of. The team showed such huge levels of improvement and I am now even more excited for the final games of the season!

Lastly, I would like to give huge praise and thanks to Old Cooperians RFC. The welcome, the warm up, the game and the after-game refreshments were wonderful. The team and parents of the Old Brentwood U10’s had a brilliant morning, thank you so much!
