OB’s vs Braintree U10

Well, firstly I want to thank Braintree RFC for a great morning of rugby fun! What a massively talented group of players you have!

Today, the Acorns played on smaller pitches and with smaller numbers, this made for a fast paced and frantic game! They adapted well and grew in confidence as the game went on. Coming up against fresh legs every 5 minutes made for a tough challenge but the OB’s kept going and slowly managed to turn their efforts in defence into so really positive attack. After picking up a nasty knock, Tommy managed to gather himself and returned to play and put in a huge shift in defence for the team. Our trophy winner certainly deserved the cheers and handshakes he received at games end!

The acorns took some punishing attacks and in the most part, came off 2nd best. But in those moments we also saw some flashes of brilliance and more importantly, the smiles were all there at full time.

As for the U10 Old Brentwood team, we continue to grow, learn and to find joy in the game. Who can ask for more?!
