U13 Thurrock v Old Brentwoods

Another lovely sunny morning saw the U13’s away to Thurrock for a friendly match before half term.

Thurrock started strong with early pressure in OB’s half but the defence was solid and some excellent tackling saw us regain possession.

A lovely try from Keve after a strong run put us one try ahead. The good work in the rucks and tackles continued and Matt made a powerful run deep into Thurrock’s half, but was tackled well. Louie was in a great position to keep the momentum going and made a dash over the try line to give us a 0-10 lead.

As the game progressed we continued to show excellent determination but unfortunately an injury put us a man down and Thurrock were able to level the game 10-10.

In the second half we again picked up some more injuries and had 4 separate players off at different times. With no substitutions against Thrurrock’s 7 available to them, legs began to tire and Thurrock were able to break through and score a further 2 tries.

The game ended 20-10 to Thurrock but it was a fantastic team effort from the boys and one to be proud of. We play them again in a few weeks time and hopefully with a full squad can turn the result around.
