Old Brentwood’s vs South Woodham

This Sunday saw the boys playing South Woodham for their final home match of the season.

Despite the miserable weather and tricky conditions the boys put on a solid performance and there was a tenacious attitude on display from start to finish.

The wet conditions made ball handling and running at pace very difficult but despite this OB’s we’re positive in attack and were making some great tackles in defense. The determination soon paid off and Keve put us 5-0 ahead 5 mins into the match.

The good play continued but a very good individual run saw the match leveled on 16 mins with an excellent try from South Woodham.

OB’s possession was good and they continued to close down counter attacks, a break emerged and a strong run from Josh put them 10-5 up, just 3 minutes later.

The first half ended well with a try from Elliott to go into the break with a deserved lead.

The second half saw the majority possession continue and much of the play was in South Woodham’s half. Despite coming close on several occasions OB’s couldn’t quite get over the try line and the match finished 15-5.

A determined victory and entertaining win, in some very muddy and difficult conditions was a tribute to the boys commitment and progression over the season.
