This Sunday the U13's were drawn in the cup against a very strong Westcliffe side from division one.
Playing into the wind in the first half OB’s struggled in the early stages of the match, going 15-0 down in the first 10 mins. Scrummaging was good and when the boys were running with ball in hand they were making good ground but the technical ability of Westcliffe was starting to show and their quick turn over of ball and slick passing saw OB’s 35-0 down at half time.
After a team talk and the wind behind the boys in the second half, they came out strong and following some good passing and a great run from Matt, OB’s scored a try in the corner. Again, when carrying the ball OB’s looked strong, and the tackling in the second half improved, but Westcliffe continued to find gaps and scored two more quick tries.
OB’s didn’t give up and another strong run from Matt, followed by a quick pick up from Elliott was rewarded with another try.
As the clock ticked down Westcliffe made one final break to score their third try of the half.
Played in a good spirit by both teams.
