U13 Epping UC v Old Brentwoods

The first game back after the Christmas break saw OB’s away to Epping and Upper Clacton.

Heavy rain had made playing conditions hard and OB’s were put under pressure by Epping and subsequently conceded two early tries.

After a number of handling errors and wayward passes which had helped put Epping ahead, OB’s managed to get a try back through a strong break and run by Keve.

Unfortunately Epping came back strong and showed some good passing skills and got a further two tries taking the match to 20-5 by half time.

OB’s started the second half stronger but were very well shut down by Epping who prevented any breaks and kept OB’s back with some solid rucking and defensive skills.

A lovely delayed pass by Jake to Elliott enabled him some space and a strong run led to a try taking the match to 20-10.

Epping came back strong and some missed tackles and further handling errors led to the match ending 30-10 to Epping who were deserved winners. They showed good tackling, passing and space awareness throughout the game.
