It was originally played as a fundraising memorial game for Julie Knapp (Dave’s wife) and Daniel Hannaway (Ian’s son). 6 teams were invited, only 4 made it as there was 6 inches of snow around. The games were played, nobody remembered who won, but it was a wonderful day enjoyed by 250+ players & supporters – and the Snowflake Cup was born.It isn’t done every year, but when it is, it’s a great chance to remember those who have passed away, especially recently. It’s generally an emotional but fun day.

This years Snowflake Cup Memorial Day is fast-approaching: Sunday 21st January. 10.30 – 12.00: Mini’s /Midi’s rugby OBRFC Acorns vs Bancroft and OBRFC XV will be playing Essex Vets at 12.30. There will be food & festivities in the clubhouse afterwards. You may well have seen the email form Tim, but if there are any other names to be included from the OBRFC Rugby family, please do give me a nudge.
